Carol Kos began her career in public practice in 2004. Carol’s area of practice includes accounting and assurance services with a primary focus on personal, corporate and estate taxation, business advisory and planning services. Carol has experience working with private enterprises and non-profit organizations in a wide variety of industry sectors. She enjoys assisting clients to meet their goals by listening to their issues, being responsive to their needs and looking beyond to provide value added solutions.

Prior to her career in public practice, Carol held the position of Director of Accounting and Controller for ICE Futures Canada Inc. (formerly Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Inc.). Carol was responsible for the financial reporting of the Exchange and all their related companies, the preparation of tax returns and developing internal controls that were effective but cost efficient. She also monitored the capital requirements of Exchange members, managed the delivery of grain against a futures contract process, and managed the daily settlement process of payments between members. Carol’s passion for taxation started to evolve as she worked through the Exchange’s move from a non-profit member based entity to a for-profit share capital organization and from an open outcry to electronic trading environment. She was part of the strategic team that resulted in the Exchange being sold to Intercontinental Exchange. 

In the early years of her career she was employed with Canada Revenue Agency.

Carol studied for her CGA designation while raising her 5 children. She received her designation in 1997. With over 25 years of experience, Carol draws on a broad skill set including accounting, finance, payroll, human resources, financial planning and corporate and personal taxation. 

Carol volunteers and provides services to various non-profit organizations.
