COVID-19 Statement

Dear Valued Clients,

We are writing this to provide an update on the preventative and precautionary actions we are implementing as we face the difficult challenge of responding to the coronavirus (COVID-19).  It is important to do our part for our community in an effort to lower the risk of spreading the virus and flattening the curve.  Our focus is on the safety and well-being of our clients and employees so that we can continue to provide our services.

We will be following the recommendations of the public health authorities, and until we feel it is safe, we will not be having face-to-face meetings. Going forward, all communications with our office will be by phone, fax and/or email.

As you may be aware, the Government of Canada has announced a series of tax measures to help support Canadians during the COVID-19 pandemic.  You can find the details of these tax measures at https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency.html

The Canada Revenue Agency has deferred the filing due date for 2019 tax returns for individuals to June 1, 2020.  The Agency, however, encourages individuals who expect to receive benefits under the Goods and Services Tax Credit or the Canada Child Benefit not to delay the filing of their return to ensure benefits and credits are not interrupted for the 2020-21 benefit year.

The Canada Revenue Agency has extended the deadline to pay any balance due for individual income tax and benefit returns for 2019 from April 30, 2020 to August 31, 2020.

Some of you have already dropped off your income tax documents at our office.  After preparing your tax return, we will phone/email you the results and discuss the options for delivery of the tax return and signing of the documents.

For clients that have not yet dropped off their documents, our door will be open only for the purpose of dropping off documents.  We will be placing a desk just inside our door.  There will be envelopes and plastic bags available to you to place your documents in, if necessary.  Please place your documents in the box that will be on the desk.   In the event you need to discuss matters relating to your documents, leave a note with your documents asking us to contact you.

Thank-you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.  We appreciate your business.

Please stay safe!
